5 Easy Steps for Storing Fresh Herbs

Are you reluctant to purchase cut herbs because they don’t last very long. The alternative is to buy  potted herbs which cost more or grow your own, unfortunately not all of us are inclined to have green fingers. With careful storing herbs can stay fresh for least an extra week or two depending on the type of herb. Woody type herbs such as thyme  stay fresh this way for weeks, whilst dill, parsley and coriander, will last about 10 days, if stored properly.

Dampen 2 sheets of kitchen paper, place on a flat surface. Place herbs onto paper.

Wrap the damp kitchen paper around the bunch of herbs

Repeat with all selected herbs

Place the wrapped herbs in an air tight plastic box

Cover herbs with a lid.  Store in a fridge, use as required to flavour and add extra nutrients to your meals without  worrying about wasting money.
