Peace to all at Easter, especially to those who have to work. This blog is for you, and for all home cooks who have to organise, prep, and cook the family meals all over the next week or so. How many occasional home cooks have I heard say ‘I don’t know why everyone doesn’t love cooking’ not realising that they have weeks to plan, shop, lovingly cook, and then serve that delicious meal. If only we all had the time! Factor in the day job, the children’s entertainment, washing, homework, laundry, and family taxi service. I haven’t even mentioned the better half, if we are lucky enough to have one. After all of these jobs, there’s not much time for cooking wonderful tasty food every night.
Well perhaps surprisingly, it is possible to cook regular delicious meals all the family will eat when you meal plan. Planning your meals not only gives you the freedom to do all the things that you need to do in a day, you’re also assured that you are in control of your food shopping, optimising your family’s health, reducing your food waste, and eliminating meal time stress. I guarantee that sitting down before the weekend and planning your meals over the course of 30 minutes and then shopping for those ingredients will allow you to enjoy the time off at Easter. After all, you deserve it!
Here are the meals that I’m cooking over the next 5 days. They might not be the meals that foodies love, but I know each member of my family will love them. I know that I if I haven’t got time to cook them, one of the boys will. More importantly, I know that they are all healthy meals, without added salt, sugar, or trans fats. My shopping is done for the week. I’ve got peace of mind, I know what I’m cooking and when. So what more could I wish for this Easter?, well…. perhaps a small Easter Egg!! Anyone listening?
Have a great Easter everyone!
